Beginner Adult Ballet Fitness – All Levels
Beginner Adult Ballet class introduces participants to the practice of classical ballet methodically, offering a low-pressure environment to improve mobility, strength, and overall fitness.
Ballet or specialized shoes may be appropriate as progress occurs.
Bellydance Improvisational Style – All Levels
Bellydance Improvisational Style teaches basic posture, musicality, and movement skills. Using these skills, students will learn how to link moves and read body cues to learn to dance with others without structured choreography. Ultimately, students will engage in a piece that reflects a conversation between dancers and learn rhythm patterns of Middle Eastern music. The instructor recommends attending Lorna Trigg’s Hatha Yoga Flow as a warm-up to the Bellydance class.
Hatha Yoga – All Levels
Hatha Yoga is a gentle, traditional movement practice which studies asana (poses), breath (pranayama), and meditation (dhyana) to bring students inner peace by calming the nervous system and alleviating physical tension and stress. Regular Hatha Yoga practice is believed to keep the body healthy while teaching greater harmony with all things. A yoga mat ($12 and up) is required to participate. Students may also choose to have their own bolsters, blocks, or straps.
Yoga Flow – All Levels
Yoga Flow, gentle stretching and strengthening, beginner to intermediate level. Warm up prior to Bellydance class.
Self-Defense & Conditioning for Everyone – All Levels
Self-Defense and Conditioning for everyone uses drills and strength training to teach effective principles of self-defense. The class makes use of kettlebells, bag, and solo and partner training. Boxing or MMA gloves ($30) are required to participate.
Zumba® – All Levels
Zumba® is a group fitness class inspired by Latin dance movements. The musical and fun class is a calorie-burning workout that is tailored to meet your individual fitness needs. Athletic shoes ($25 and up) are required.
Kids and Young Adults
Basics of Ballet Technique – Kids and YA ages 9+
Kids and Young Adults will explore the fundamentals of classical ballet and learn fluid and graceful movements that enhance posture. Creative expression through music is explored and confidence is built as the body becomes more athletic, strong, and coordinated. Ballet or Jazz shoes will be needed early in the class (estimated at $25).
